Can you repair a cracked or bent alloy wheel?
Short answer: gutter rash, scrapes and scuffed faces — yes, all day. Cracks and buckles are a different conversation, and it's one where a lot of operators will tell you what you want to hear. I won't.
What I do repair
Cosmetic damage to the outer rim: gutter rash, scraped lips, gouged faces, chipped and peeling paint, and wheels that have been badly refinished by someone else. The wheel stays on the car, the tyre stays on the wheel, and the finish goes back to 2K automotive paint colour-matched on the spot.
What I don't touch
Cracks, buckles and bends. A crack in an alloy is a structural failure — welding it is specialist work with heat treatment involved, and a cosmetic refinish over the top of one just hides the problem until it lets go at highway speed. Same with a buckled rim: if the wheel is out of round, it needs straightening on a proper machine, not paint.
How to tell which one you've got
If the wheel holds air, tracks straight and the damage is on the outer lip or face, it's cosmetic — that's my job. If you've got a vibration through the wheel at speed, a slow leak you can't explain, or you can see a line running through the metal rather than across the surface, stop and get it assessed before anything cosmetic happens.
Why I'd rather lose the job
Because a wheel that fails is a genuinely dangerous outcome, and because telling you the truth is the only reason you'd recommend me to anyone. If yours is structural I'll say so and point you at someone who does that work properly — I'd rather send you elsewhere than take money for a repair that shouldn't happen.

Can gutter rash be repaired?
Yes — that's the bulk of what I do. Scrapes and gouges on the outer lip are filled, sanded, colour matched and sealed in 2K automotive paint, from $120 a wheel, done at your driveway.
Can a cracked alloy wheel be repaired?
Not cosmetically, and not by me. A crack is structural and needs a specialist with the right welding and heat treatment. Painting over one is unsafe.
What about a buckled or out-of-round rim?
That needs machine straightening before any cosmetic work. If there's a vibration through the steering at speed, get it checked first.
